Whether you are an experienced gambler looking for tougher challenges and higher stakes, or you are just looking to have some fun, you can find tons of games to play at online casinos.

Aside from the more popular games (online Poker, slots, and Blackjack), you now have the chance to enjoy one of the world’s most prestigious casino games; Craps.

History

Craps is one of the most well-known dice games in the world. Its history dates as far back as the 11th century, when Spain and other European countries engaged in the Crusades.

The dice games that were played back then, however, are far different from the modern-day version of the game, and today, Craps is a game that can be played virtually anywhere, as long as you have a couple of dice.

How To Play

Normally, a game of craps consists of a number of players who bet on the outcome of the dice rolls. Players can make bets against each other or against the bank, but most craps tables at casinos are played against the bank.

When played in a casino, craps players take turns in rolling the dice. (Online, this is unnecessary (and impossible), helping to speed gameplay up and giving YOU full control over the results.).

The other players at the table make bets on the rolls. A "stickman," who acts sort of like a dealer for the casino, overlooks the bets, rolls, and players at the table. The stickman is also responsible for presenting the shooter with a number of dice, from which the shooter will choose two for the roll. When the shooter makes the roll, the players betting on the game will win or lose money depending on the outcome of the roll.

Online, you simply place the bets you want, select your stake, and the computer does the rest!

It’s really simple, although it can take a bit of getting used to, especially if you’re a new Craps player who hasn’t had the chance to experience this ‘James Bond’ classic yet.

How To Bet

The betting can seem a bit confusing at first, but it's easy to follow once you understand it.

Basically, you can make bets on the "Pass" line or the "Don't Pass" line. Once all bets are placed, the shooter rolls the dice for the first time.

If the dice rolled add up to between 7 or 11… known as a "natural,"… the players who placed bets on the Pass line win, while the players who bet on the Don't Pass line lose.

If the dice value equals 2, 3, or 12, then the shooter "craps out" (hence the game's name), and players who bet on the Pass line lose their money, while players on the “Don't Pass” line push on 12, and win on 2 and 3.

If the shooter's initial roll is a 4,5,6,8,9 or 10, then that roll is the "Pass Line Point." The dice are then rolled until the shooter rolls the same number as the Pass Line Point or if the shooter rolls a 7. Those who bet on the Pass line win if the Pass Line Point is rolled before a 7 is rolled. If a 7 is rolled first, then those who bet on the Don't Pass line win.

Types Of Bet

As mentioned, there are a LOT of different bets available, with “Pass” and “Don’t Pass” being the most common.

Most Craps tables (especially online) allow you to place a host of other bets as well, from picking the correct numbers rolled, to betting above or below certain numbers.

Finding a bet that suits you is something that you’ll learn about once you start playing, but as a general guide, the pass and don’t-pass bets are good if you’re just starting out.

Payouts

There’s a ton of different payouts available when you play Craps, and they can seem a little overwhelming at first.
