Blackjack Pro Table Game Review

Blackjack Pro is a unique spin on the traditional card game featured in thousands of casinos around the world, and while the fundamentals of playing are fairly similar, there are a few key differences that you need to be aware of before you begin gaming.

How To Play

Blackjack Pro follows the same playing mechanisms as traditional Blackjack, and you start by selecting the stake you wish to play at, before pressing the deal button. You will then be dealt two cards face up, and the dealer will also deal himself two cards, but with only one of them face up.

The goal of the game is to make your hand as close to 21 as possible, with numbers 2 through to 10 being equivalent to their face value.

Jack’s, Queens, and Kings are worth 10 points, and an ace is worth either 1 or 11, dependent on which improves your hand the most.

Once you’ve been dealt your two cards you can either stand and hope you beat the dealers hand, or you can take another card to try and improve your hand. This is called hitting, and you can take as many cards as you like, but bear in mind that if you go over 21 you will go bust, and the game will end.

If you have a pair in your hand you may split it into two separate hands by matching your initial stake. You may also double down on any two cards with a value of 10 or 11 – unlike regular Blackjack, you cannot double down on nine.

Once you’ve finished your hand, the dealer will expose his second card, and if he has less than 17 will continue to draw cards until he either reaches a score of 17 or higher, or until he goes above 21 and busts. At the end, if your hand beats the dealer’s hand, you win.

What’s Different From Normal Blackjack?

While the game features almost identically to regular Blackjack, there are a few key changes you should be aware of. If you split a pair of aces, a score of 21 does not count as Blackjack, meaning that a dealer Blackjack would beat your 21.

There is also something called a ‘Seven Card Charlie’, and if you manage to draw 7 cards without busting, your hand will automatically win, no matter what the dealer’s final score – however, if the dealer pulls a Blackjack, your hand will lose.

You may not re-split aces in Blackjack Pro, and the dealer must stand on hard 17.

Payouts

The payouts in Blackjack Pro are exactly the same as regular Blackjack, with Blackjack itself paying 3/2, and your regular wagering bets paying out at even money.

Some online casinos will allow you to play the insurance bet, which pays out at 2/1.

There is not a huge amount of differences between Blackjack Pro and regular variations you may be familiar with, but the singular deck used gives you a slight edge, as you have a clearer picture of which cards could potentially come next.

The ‘Seven Card Charlie’ is also a fun and exciting addition to the game, and while it won’t appear very often, it’s something that will be a nice little surprise every now and again.

So go ahead – start playing Blackjack Pro today, and see what your first two cards will be!
